The Alaska Conference Women’s Ministries Department is led by volunteer coordinator Jean Gobah, who works closely with churches across the state. Partnering with local Women’s Ministries leaders, Jean helps create meaningful opportunities for women to come together in fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth—strengthening faith and building lasting connections within the sisterhood of Christ.
Each spring, women from across Alaska gather for the Alaska Conference Women’s Ministries Retreat in Southcentral Alaska. This special weekend offers a time of rest, renewal, and spiritual refreshment, inviting women to step away from the busyness of life and draw closer to God. In the fall, the Chistochina Women’s Retreat is held at Red Eagle Lodge, located 233 miles northeast of Anchorage, providing a peaceful mountain setting for reflection and fellowship. In Southeast Alaska, local leaders also host spring and fall retreats to nurture women’s spiritual journeys within their communities.
Throughout the year, Women’s Ministries sponsors a variety of uplifting events, including Princess Tea, Ladies Spa Night, Knitwits, and health and wellness seminars focused on issues important to women. Workshop projects and outreach activities offer creative ways to serve others while building friendships and making cherished memories together.
Through every gathering and event, Women’s Ministries seeks to inspire, equip, and encourage women to grow in faith, serve with love, and reflect Christ in their homes, churches, and communities.
